We work primarily with two of the most recognizable silhouettes in West African fashion; the kaftan /boubou and the iro and buba – a traditional Yoruba blouse and wrapper. These silhouettes are a throwback to a precolonial globalised world.
Resilient and ethereal they have stood the test of time.
We create fashionable and affordable clothing that proves that African silhouettes are just as timeless as their Western counterparts. We want African women to feel just as comfortable in an Iro and Buba or a kaftan as they do in a skirt suit or dress. These silhouettes are our inheritance and we take pride in keeping this inheritance alive.
Each Ethnyk piece is ethically and sustainably produced by indigenous dressmakers and artisans at our workshop in Nigeria. Each piece strive to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and fierce dynamism of modern African fashion
